They wear some of the best designer dresses at the hottest events of the season. Here are a few celebrities I decided to style for a special event, gowns provided by Nika.  Alicia Keys is a beautiful music artist and actress that have won many awards for her creations. She has a nice shape that will fit perfect into a Nika gown. This gown I chose would go great a the red carpet event for Alicia Keys. Her nice curves and tight stomach fits great into the white halter and beaded gown.  Mariah Carey is a gorgeous music artist and actress that that have won many awards for her creations. She has a nice shape that will fit perfect into a Nika gown. This gown I chose would go great on a red carpet event for Mariah Carey. Her nice curves and tight stomach fits great into the blue halter and beaded belt gown.  Sarah Jessica Parker is a gorgeous actress that that have won many awards for her work. She has a nice shape that will fit perfect into a Nika gown. 11/13/2008 Best Fit for Your Body Posted by Mauri Simone Finding a prom dress to fit your body type can be hard if you’re new to the formal scene. Knowing silhouettes can help find a dress that is flattering to the body. There are seven different silhouettes offered when shopping for the perfect prom dress.  A-line (princess cut)A- line is form-fitting at the bodice and flares out into a full skirt at the natural waist. It has a seamless waistline which helps hide stomach, hips, and thighs. It is flattering to most body types.  Empire cutAn empire cut dress has a high waistline, beginning just beneath the bust, and a long full skirt that flows straight from this waistline. The empire style camouflages a pear shape or thick waist and creates an illusion of height for short or petite figures.  SheathA sheath is a slim dress with fabric detail that hugs curves and outlines the silhouette of your body. The sheath is perfect for sleeveless styles and tends to show off a well-toned body. Sheath dresses are especially beautiful and graceful on tall, thin figures.  Tea-LengthA tea-length dress is a gown that is hemmed to the end just at the thigh, knee, or shin. It has a fun and flirty appearance that is perfect for a slightly casual or more relaxed appearance at the prom. This dress style is ideal if your calves are your best feature or you have a tall, thin figure.  High-Low GownA high-low gown is hemmed long in the back (at the ankles or to the floor) and just above the knees in the front. This trendy, new style creates a unique, sexy prom dress appearance. It is perfect for showing off long legs and an hourglass figure.  Tulle SkirtA bouffant gown is characterized by a sheer, puffed-out skirt often made from stiffened rayon or silk. The skirt of this type of gown is similar to a ballerina tutu. The flared skirt is perfect for disguising a bottom-heavy figure.  Ball GownA ball gown is characterized by a very full skirt that begins at the natural waist and proceeds to floor length. The waist is seamed and may be styled in various shapes and designs. The ball gown style visually cuts the body in half and is ideal on average to tall figures.

Here is a Lily Seamless Bustier for $67.00 on Sydney’s Closet.com. Make sure you have the proper under garments for your gown with the back out. Nude under garments works best!!! Certain undergarments are required to look classy and not trashy.  Control bottoms are important when wearing your gown also. It will be able to smooth out the body and creates a silhouette. Here’s a Spanx Footless Super Control for $26.00 on Sydney’sCloset.com. Make sure you have the proper under garments for your gown with a form fitting silhouette. Make sure also you don’t have any panty lines.

She has also played a struggling single-parent college student in The Playa’s Club. Lisa Raye is a sophisticated actress with style and a great sense of fashion. She is gorgeous with her charming smile and has a vibrant yet laid-back personality. She has walked the red carpet and has hosted The Hip Hop Source: All Access Awards in 2000. Lisa Raye has been seen purchasing a Mauri Simone evening gown I wonder where she wore it. 
10/07/2008 Mauri Simone’s Spring line is HOT!!!! Posted by Mauri Simone Mauri Simone’s Spring line is HOT!!!! You can get a closer look at Chicago’s Merchandise Mart on Oct. 4-7th where there will be beautiful prom dresses that are sophisticated, elegant, and chic. The prom dresses will also be at Atlanta’s Apparel Mart on Oct. 11-14th. I can’t wait to see the viewer’s reactions when they get to see and feel innovation at an extreme level. Soon celebrities will crave for Mauri Simone for the red carpet and for special events. I would love to have a closet full of Mauri Simone, wouldn’t you? La Coya 
08/28/2008 Mauri Simone August Preview For Prom 2009 Posted by Mauri Simone Last week Mauri Simone launched all three of their collections for the prom season. All three lines were very well received and highly complimented. Many of the other designers complimented how different and fresh our line is compared to the rest of the prom lines in the industry. Below is a preview of the Mauri Simone and the Nika by Mauri Simone collections:  can be viewed at www.maurisimone.com Preview Number 1: This particular style is going to be extremely popular. Mauri Simone picked a very unique print on Silk fabric. It is at a great price point and is part of the Mauri Simone Collection.  can be viewed at www.maurisimone.com Preview Number 2: This style is a carry over from our past season it has been popular for both prom and pageant. It is part of the Nika collection. It is made of a high end lace and displays the high quality beads that we use on all of our dresses.  can be viewed at www.maurisimone.com Preview Number 3: This print is the most unique of all of our prints. This Nika style is printed on high end silk and has heavy beading around the waste and the straps that go over the shoulders. This print was so popular at the show we decided to do two different versions of this dress the other is a strapless version with the heavy beading still in a belt.  can be viewed at www.maurisimone.com Preview Number 4: This Nika style is extremely popular. The Grecian look is in this year and we are capitalizing on it. It has band of beads accenting the neckline that completes the look of a goddess. It is made of silk satin and is accented on the bow with light bead work. 
08/28/2008 Mauri Simone Celebrity Catwalk: Posted by Mauri Simone Mauri Simone believes in many causes. Twelve of our styles have been sent to participate in a show in L.A. on the 28th of August. The event is a charity event called Celebrity Catwalk. The charity is charity that helps find homes for abandoned and homeless animals. Mauri Simone thinks that it is important to find homes for these animals and that helping this charity with their fundraising fashion show is a great way to help the animals. 08/07/2008 Mauri Simone Prom Launch 2009 Posted by Mauri Simone We are very excited about our launch for prom on August 16th. We have a great blend of contemporary and traditional dresses. Mauri Simone gowns are simple and with intricate bead work that accents the styles very well. We are particularly excited because we are launching our new social occasion line Nika. Nika is a high end line that works for many social occasions including prom. We also have our line Serena that is full of beautiful ball gowns. We did a focus group and we received a great response for all of our lines. The focus group loved our beautiful prints, unique backs, and said “they have never seen designs like this before. 07/16/2008 Prom 2009 Designer trends Posted by Mauri Simone Go Back to Mauri Simone Dresses Website In our opinion the upcoming prom season is rounding up to be about prints, colors, slinky cuts and satin. Expect to see satin take over for Prom 2009. Metallic satins will be around again this year. Metallic fabrics are bringing back the 30s, 40s and 50s fashion as is the rebirth of charmuse/ satin slinky dresses. Vintage fashions of the 1950s are influencing the current fashion trends. So look out for sexy satin prom dresses in solids and prints. Pick-up skirt ball gowns are the other trend to look forward to. Pick-up skirts are giving the regular ball gown princess look a run for its money!
